I would rather have an inexpensive hand-me-down fly rod and know how to cast it than an expensive brand-name fly rod with poor casting technique. What are your thoughts on this?
I consider myself a student of the sport. I love it when someone shows me a technique or new way of doing something that makes my casting more efficient or more fun. The best part of fly fishing for me is the journey and realizing there are no absolutes in fly fishing. There are basic principles but no absolutes. –Al Q
